ISASP Scores Released

State of Iowa Assessment Results Received

The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) results were received by the district this week.  The ISASP was administered for the first time to Iowa students in the Spring of 2019. This is a one time per year summative assessment that replaces the former Iowa Assessments. Students in grades 3-11 were tested in math and English Language Arts including writing.  Additionally, students in grades 5, 8 and 10 were tested in science.

In English Language Arts, 55% to 67% of tested students scored in the proficient and advanced levels as compared to the State of Iowa average of 65% to 76%.

In math, 49% to 74% of tested students scored in the proficient and advanced levels as compared to the State of Iowa average of 66% to 73%.

In science, 51% to 59% of tested students scored in the proficient and advanced levels as compared to the State of Iowa average of 52% to 63%.

This is a summative assessment that is given to all Iowa public school students one time per year.  Since this is a new assessment, the Department of Education emphasized using this data as baseline since it cannot be compared to previous assessments.

Parents will receive their student’s individual performance scores when they are available in the near future.

The ISASP will be administered again in the Spring of 2020.
