Ms. Weisinger's classes host guests in their classrooms from local businesses.
Pictured above is the Introduction to Business class with guest, Matt Mohrfeld. Mr. Mohrfeld, owner of Matt’s Greenhouse and newly elected Mayor of Fort Madison, spoke to the class about running a small business in Southeast Iowa. Students learned what entrepreneurs experience when starting a business and what is required to keep a business running from day to day. Matt’s personal experience as a business owner helped connect what Ms. Weisinger’s students are learning in the classroom to what happens in the real world.
Guests from Lee County Bank, Ryan Meierotto and Kevin Adams, came to speak with Ms. Weisinger’s Personal Finance students. Ryan talked with the students about loan requirements, debt to income ratios, and what you need to get a loan through the bank and the steps to get you there. Kevin presented to the students on credit, and ways to build good credit, and more.
Ms. Weisinger’s classes will continue hosting guests throughout the remainder of the year as they learn to apply their skills in the classroom to real life situations and circumstances.
