Cindy Schmitz is a food service worker at the Fort Madison High School. She is currently volunteering for the “Grab and Go” Meals Program. Cindy Schmitz has been working for the district for two years. She is originally from Nebraska, a community like ours where friends, family, and community mean everything.
Her favorite memory is when the kids tell her that they really like our food. “They tell me they missed me when I’ve been gone or tell me that I’m cool ‘for an adult,'” said Schmitz.
Cindy loves to spend time with her family. She likes to hangout by the pool and watch good movies with her husband. Her favorite movie is The Proposal, it makes her giggle every time she watches it. In addition, Cindy’s favorite T.V. shows are Chicago Med, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire. Her favorite foods are Italian and Chinese.
She wants the students to be the best that they can be, never give up, and always be kind to others. Her favorite thing about her job is, “we make work fun. We listen to music, sing, dance, and just be silly together. We have a great crew,” said Schmitz.
What Cindy’s coworkers say about her:
“Friendly and compassionate.”
“My partner in crime, I just love her!”
“She works really hard. She is good at what she does. Love her.”
“Very nice person.”
“She enjoys sharing stories about her grandchildren!”
“Great person to work with.”
