Senior Athletes – Boys’ Tennis

The Fort Madison High School’s spring sports were cancelled due to the COVID-19 shutdown. FMCSD wants to recognize the senior athletes that were supposed to compete this year. The boys’ tennis team only had one senior this year, Reed Fehseke. The head coach of boys’ tennis, Dean Hogan said, “Reed Fehseke, the only senior, Captain, was to lead the 2018-2019 Fort Madison S.E. Conference and District Champions for a repeat with his talented teammates. Fehseke, as a junior, was fourth position Conference Champion in singles with a 13-3 record. His doubles partner, Sam Avery, compiled a 10-1 record through conference play. Reed also compiled a 2-0 singles District effort. His leadership, work ethics, team role model, and his love for the game of tennis are and will be missed by his teammates. WELL DONE REED!” In addition, Reed shares his thoughts on missing the final season.

Reed Fehseke, Senior

“The circumstances really stink but I’m glad I got to enjoy the one year I did play. My favorite memory was us just sweeping the district tournament last year. I’m sure I’ll continue to play for fun in the future.”
