Meet Dominique Akpore – Fort Madison Middle School

Dominique Akpore is a 7/8 Social Studies teacher at the Fort Madison Middle School. Originally, Ms. Akpore is from Fremont, Ohio. Dominique Akpore attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She got her degree in education with a focus in Secondary Social Studies.

Ms. Akpore shares a story about Cedar Point!

In her free time, Ms. Akpore enjoys reading and learning new things. Additionally, her favorite book series of all time is the Harry Potter series. Ms. Akpore’s favorite movie is “The Little Mermaid.” Also, her favorite t.v. shows are Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire. In addition, her favorite food is popcorn. Her favorite vacation she has been on was to South Padre Island, Texas.

Currently in the classroom, Ms. Akpore’s seventh grade class is learning about how global trade affects us here in Iowa during their Economics unit. In eighth grade American History, the students are exploring the causes and effects of the American Revolution. A fun fact about Ms. Akpore is that she was a baton twirler in middle school and high school. She also played the violin.
