FMCSD students in grades K-12 will again have the option for 100% online learning for the 2021-22 school year. Online programming will be provided in cooperation with area districts under the umbrella of VIBE-Virtual, Innovative, Blended, Exploration.
Housed within the James Madison building in Burlington, VIBE focuses on bringing a personalized, online learning experience to students, while also offering optional in-person enrichment lessons and activities. In-person activities and program offices will be located at 2132 Madison Avenue in Burlington.
In order to be eligible for the online program, students must meet the following criteria:
- The student has demonstrated evidence of successful past experience with online learning through FMCSD or another district. Success is determined by:
- Evidence of learning progress, i.e. lesson completion and average or above academic progress
- At least 95% attendance in past year
- The student is able to commit to a full year of enrollment in the online program
Exceptions to the above criteria may be made with a doctor’s recommendation for online learning due to health and safety reasons for the student.
Students will enroll in the VIBE Virtual Learning Program for the entirety of the school year. Withdrawing or entering the program mid-year must be approved by administrators and will only take place at the trimester change.
Special education students may be served through the VIBE Virtual Learning program or through dual enrollment with FMCSD. IEP teams will make the determination for services that best meet students’ needs.
Interested families should complete the Online registration form for VIBE by July 31, 2021.
