Beef Quality Assurance:

The checkoff-funded Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program recently launched a training and certification program for cattle transportation. The program, known as Beef Quality Assurance Transportation (BQAT), provides cattle producers and haulers with comprehensive training based on their roles in the cattle industry. Online training launched in November 2017 and has quickly amassed over 700 enrollments by producers and cattle haulers from across the country. Additionally, Cargill is supporting in-person training programs through the network of BQA state coordinators. 

Youth Quality Assurance Program:

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a national multi-species quality assurance program for youth ages 8 to 21 with a focus on three core pillars: Food Safety, Animal Well Being, and Character Development.

 

Applied Science -

3M Personal Protective Equipment:

The 3M Worker Health and Safety Awareness Program covers an introduction to 3 topics:

  • Respiratory hazards
  • Hearing hazards
  • Head, eye and face hazards

Within each topic students will participate in lecture and hands on practical labs to help them increase their knowledge and skills.

 

OSHA 10:

Essential compliance training designed to enhance the safety awareness and practices of individuals working in the construction industry.

Hand Tool Identification, Safety, and Usage:

The Snap-on Hand Tool Identification and Safety Certification is designed to introduce tech students to hand tools used in today’s critical industries. Tools at Height Drop Prevention

According to OSHA, each year sees thousands of recorded incidents of people being struck by falling objects — and some of the most commonly dropped objects are tools. Students learn to identify hazards and prevent accidents when performing work “at height.” They gain situational awareness skills and workplace best practices to help prevent equipment damage and injury to others. The Tools@Height™ drop prevention certification gives students the foundational skills they need to remain safe and productive in the workplace, learning best practices to prevent injuries and foreign object damage (FOD).    

Torque Fundamentals: 

The Snap-on Mechanical and Electronic Torque Certification is awarded to students who successfully achieve proficiency in the use of torque tools. Family and Consumer Science -

AAFCS Broad Pre-Pac Field Family and Consumer Sciences:

The Broad Field FCS credential is a comprehensive assessment of the knowledge and skills in the Family and Consumer Sciences content areas and are central to career areas involving human service; consumer services, protection, and advising; education and training; and social and community services.

AAFCS Pre-Pac Culinary Arts:

The Culinary Arts credential addresses a skill set necessary for success in the culinary industry. This credential will facilitate employment in early career ladder positions and promote continuing education at the post-secondary level preparing for careers associated with restaurants; institutional food service; hospitality and catering; and food and beverage operations.

AAFCS Pre-Pac Housings and Furnishings:

The Housing and Furnishings credential emphasizes competencies and a skill set necessary for success as a pre-professional in a career in the residential housing and furnishings industry. It will facilitate employment in early career lattice positions and promote continuing education at the post-secondary level in career areas involving public and private sector housing programs, residential property and facility management, real estate, retail home furnishings, or home decorating and staging.

AAFCS Pre-Pac Interior Design Fundamentals:

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation, in partnership with the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), has developed a national interior design examination and credential for high school and junior college students. The Pre-Professional Certification for Interior Design Fundamentals validates the achievement of competencies related to the fundamental principles of interior design. It is anticipated that this credential will promote further education at the post-secondary level and continued training and professional development for those who want to pursue interior design careers.

AAFCS Fashion, Textiles, and Apparel:

The Fashion, Textiles, and Apparel credential emphasizes the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the fashion industry. This certification is targeted for individuals preparing for careers related to fashion, textiles, and apparel, such as those associated with:

  • retail and wholesale buying,
  • apparel and textile development and production,
  • fashion and textile design, and
  • visual merchandising.

ServSafe Food Handler:

The ServSafe Food Handler Certificate verifies basic food safety knowledge and is for individuals in food handler employee-level positions. Upon successful completion of the ANAB ASTM 2659 accredited Food Handler course and 40-question exam, the employee will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the National Restaurant Association that can be printed from a secure section of the website.

 

The ServSafe Manager Certification verifies that a manager or person-in-charge has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness. Individuals that successfully pass the 90-question, multiple-choice exam will receive a ServSafe Manager Certification and wallet card. The ServSafe Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Accreditation Board (ANAB) under the Conference for Food Protection Standards.

ServSafe Food Manager:

A ServSafe® Food Manager Certification is a credential that proves an individual has the knowledge and skills to manage food safety in restaurants, schools, hospitals, or other foodservice operations. This certification is designed for restaurant owners, managers, and employees who are responsible for managing food safety in the workplace. To receive this certification, you must pass a test that covers all aspects of food safety.

 

Healthcare -

Basic Life Support:

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Certified Billing and Coding Specialist:

This course dives into ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems, gaining the expertise to accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses.

CNA:

Upon successful completion of a state-approved CNA course, individuals receive a course completion certificate to become a "Certified" Nursing Assistant/Aide. This certification does not expire and there are currently no continuing education requirements for this certification. 

CPR:

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
