In accordance with Iowa Code section 279.6, the Board of Directors of the
Fort Madison Community School District publishes this notice of intent to fill
the current vacancy on The Fort Madison Community School District’s Board
of Directors by appointment.

Qualified individuals interested in being considered for this appointment must
submit a letter of interest to Sandra Elmore, 1930 Avenue M, Fort Madison,
Iowa 52627 including their name, address, qualifications
(education/background) and reason for interest, no later than July 15, 2025.

Eligible electors of The Fort Madison Community School District also have the
right to file a petition requiring that the vacancy be filled by a special election
conducted pursuant to Iowa Code section 279.7. For a petition to be valid it
must be filed with the Board Secretary at the address noted above within 14
days after this publication and must be signed by a number of eligible electors
that is at least 30% of the number of voters at the last preceding regular
school election.
