Timm Lamb IATO Hall Of Fame 2024
Judah Cooper

There have really been just three significant landing spots in Timm Lamb’s career; all were very successful, and all proved to be life changing.

His first stop was Hammond, Indiana, where he grew up.

Even early on, it was quite apparent that running, teaching, coaching and later, officiating, would be paramount in his life.

Timm was a 1968 graduate of Hammond High School where was an all-conference cross-country runner and state track meet finalist as a half-miler.

Timm continued his running career at Drake University, where he captained both the cross country and track & field teams and earned all-conference honors in 1971 & ’72. He also set a Drake school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase and was inducted into the Drake Distance Runners Hall of Fame. After earning his degree in ’72, he embarked on a distinguished 30-year high school coaching career in Boys and Girls Cross Country at Fort Madison where he had several state qualifying teams and individual place winners and in Girls Track and Field which he coached state and Drake Relays champions and finalists.

Timm became a registered Track and Field official in 1973 and became heavily involved in officiating in 2007.

He works at several Cross Country meets each year, plus several regular season Track and Field meets, State Qualifying meets and at the State championships.

Timm and Kate, his wife of 51 years have 3 sons, Patrick who is the Principal at Fort Madison Jr./Sr. HS, Kevin who works in IT in Aledo, Texas and Jeffrey who is the Athletic Director at Fort Madison.
