Chris Bolander is the Welding Instructor at the Fort Madison High School. Originally, he is from Burlington, Iowa. This is Mr. Bolander's third year working for our district. He has previously worked at Dresser-Rand/Siemens in Burlington and Iowa Fertilizer Co.
In his free time, Mr. Bolander enjoys racing, deer hunting, and watching his kids participate in sports. His favorite food is tacos.
Currently in the introduction classroom, Mr. Bolander's students are working on safety and measuring. The students will be moving to Oxyacetylene welding soon. The advanced classroom is currently working on Blueprint reading, Oxyacetylene and SMAW welding. Mr. Bolander would like to see his advanced students complete a couple projects by the end of the year.
Mr. Bolander's goal for his students is to pass their AWS Qualifications Tests. His favoirte thing about working for the district is helping students learn a skill that some will turn into a career.
